I am against the military recruiting in public schools.

That does not mean I do not support the troops.

One has nothing to do with the other.

I hate snakes.
I like apples.

See what I mean?

I am starting this little blog and website to hopefully connect with other like-minded folks.
As far as I know, I am the only parent in my kid's small rural school district who publicly feels strongly about this issue.
I know I am not alone in the whole scheme of things and I am willing to be the face and voice of opposition
at this school.

Is it a fun position?
Nope.

Is it an awkward position?
Yep.

Do I like many things about this school?
Yep.

Are there some changes I would
 like to see happen?
You betcha.

WOW!! I had no idea they had access to the 7th and 8th graders. I drove my son to school today and saw the sign at 1st i thought the sign was trying to get the kids to talk to recruiters and I got ticked! Then I read again on way home, I would be so angry if a recruiter started talking to my kids at such a young age especially when they are still playing video games and easily persuaded I talked with my son and he even agreed that that was too young for military recruiters to be talking to kids.I understand job fairs and if they are looking towards graduation and for a path of life.I have nothing against the military I grew up in that life for awhile, BUT I do not want my "CHILD" approached by a recruiter! I think this blog is a great idea and I am glad I saw the signs what a wake up call!

The military mindset is handed down in this nation like genes are passed from generation to generation. As intelligent hosts we should be realizing that these genes are too often cancerous.
